The University of Offa was established by Dr. (Chief) Rasaq Omoniyi OYEWALE, a distinguished academician holding a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, an M.Sc., and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Dr. OYEWALE also holds professional qualifications, including a DIPM, Inst.M, M.CAM, and PGDE.
Dr. OYEWALE's significant contributions to education in Nigeria are evident through his founding roles at The Polytechnic Ojoku in Kwara State and the College of Education Ilemona. His leadership extends to his past positions as the President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Colleges of Education in Nigeria and the President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Kwara State (NAPPS).
Furthermore, Dr. OYEWALE served as the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rak Unity Petroleum Plc, a notable achievement as it was the first indigenous oil marketing company to be publicly listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. OYEWALE was bestowed with the prestigious Chieftaincy title of Babalaje of Offa Land in 1990.
